Uttarakhand State Warehousing Corporation

Under the National warehousing policy" The Agriculture Produce (Development and Warehousing) Corporation Act.1956" was established by U.P. State government in 1958. Repealing it, later this Act becomes famous as "The Warehousing Corporation act 1962". The State Government and the Central Warehousing Corporation are share holders of this corporation.

Under the provisions of the Warehousing Corporation act 1962 State Government Uttarakhand established Uttarakhand Warehousing Corporation by notification in the official gazette, No.253/XIV-1/2015-9(4)2010 Dated Feb.25, 2015. This Corporation Start functioning independently after separation from old U.P. State Warehousing Corporation with effect from 01-04-2016. The headquarter of the corporation is situated at Trai Development Corporation campus, Kashipur Road, Rudrpur in "Bhandaran Bhawan" Distt. Udham Singh Nagar. Subject to the provision of this act State Warehousing Corporation may-
(A) Acquire and build godowns and warehouse in such places within the state as it may with the previous approval of Central Warehousing Corporation determine.
(B) Run warehouses in the state for storage of agriculture produce, seeds, manures, fertilizers, agriculture implements and notified commodities.
(C) Arrange facilities for the transport of agriculture produce, seeds, manures, and fertilizers, agriculture implements to and from warehouses.
(D) Act as an agent of the Central Warehousing Corporation or of the Government for the purposes of the purchase, sale, storage and distribution of agriculture produce, seeds, manures, fertilizers, agriculture implements and notified commodities.
(E) Carry out such other functions as may be prescribed.

Administrative Structure

Approved posts under the administrative structure of the corporation organization on headhunter level are Managing Director, Deputy General Manager (Genl), Assistant General Manager (Tech), Technical officer, Assistant Account officer, Accountant/Auditor, Technical Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Junior Engineer, Senior Warehouse superintend, Bhandarpaal, Warehouse Assistant etc. One Regional office and 12 warehouses are active under Dehradun Regional office level. Regional Manager and other staff are posted in Regional office to supervise the work of warehouses. Warehouse in-charges and other staff are posted at various warehouses to perform their functions.
